We are having a...baby...BOY!

The news is in! We are having a healthy baby BOY!

Wesley and I both woke up this morning with feelings of boy on our hearts, and Wesley even had a dream (the only one I know of) that we were having a BOY.

So we had the big ultrasound today, and I am so glad we had our hearts set on finding out because our baby was not shy about showing off! The very first thing we saw was the shot between his legs and it was beyond obvious that our baby has boy parts!

So along with the boy parts comes the boy name, and there was really no hesitation about calling our baby NOAH WESLEY SUTTON!

Noah is very healthy and more active than I can tell. He seems to have very chubby cheeks and according to the second ultrasound technichan he has some Chunky thighs to match! Noah weighs in at 13 ounces (which is 1 ounce over average for his age), but both Wes and I were big babies, so I don't think we have much hope of having a 6 or 7 pound baby. All of his organs looked healthy, even after an hour of struggling to try to get the 6 required pictures of his heart and the ones of his nose and lips too. I guess once he showed us his goods, Noah was ready to nap. I am sure that comes from his dad!

We are so excited to share our news with everyone, and we are looking forward to being able to bond with our baby by name while we prepare for his big arrival.

WE ARE HALF WAY THERE!

How far along? We are half way there at 20 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: I believe it is about 13 pounds heavier.
Maternity clothes? yes
Stretch Marks? na-da one
Sleep: The baby must be growing this the week because I am waking up in the middle of the night STARVING and couldn't get back to sleep because i couldn't get enough to eat.
Best moment this week: Our Ultrasound
Movement: I think the baby has taken to rolling. It is hard to describe, but a crazy good feeling, even though it can be uncomfortable at times.
Food cravings: The only "craving" I had this week was for the little chocolate covered hostess donuts after I went walking for 4 miles or so on Thursday morning...but I had to fill the car with gas, so it all worked out!
Gender: We are having a baby BOY!! His name is Noah Wesley Sutton!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? it is in, but I do feel like there is this big crater in my stomach. lol
What I miss: Not having heartburn all day long! lol
What I am looking forward to: Just enjoying knowing that this baby is a boy and being able to bond more in the weeks to come. Also being able to call the baby by the right gender instead of using both in the same sentence to avoid saying "it!" And being able to use the baby's name!
Weekly Wisdom: Cherish every moment. Slow down and don't wish it away. Remember this "life" you were blessed with is a gift.
Milestones: Hitting 20 weeks, Finding out the baby is healthy, and knowing that the baby is a chunky baby BOY!!

Maternity clothes? yes

Sleep: it comes it goes...but I sleep when I need to
Best moment this week: Feeling the baby roll three times while I was laying down reading
Movement: Just the one day with the baby rolling
Food cravings: I swear that if I never had to eat again I would be ok with it! I am so sick of food I could scream at the top of my lungs! I thought I hated food before I was pregnant, but this is a whole new level! Honestly I have to stop even thinking about it or I might gag.
Gender: The count down continues! 7 More days until the big ultrasound!
Labor Signs: Thank goodness no.
Belly Button in or out? in-ne
What I miss: Not having to show food in my face every couple of hours. And not having this horrible taste in my mouth all day long no matter what I do to try and get rid of it! \
What I am looking forward to: Feeling this baby move more and of course finding out if the baby is a boy or girl!
Weekly Wisdom: When your sick REST! Otherwise it will only get harder!

The last seven days!

The last seven days of not knowing the gender of our baby our here! I can not believe that tomorrow I will be 19 weeks pregnant, and in one week I will be halfway through my first pregnancy! It all seems a little unreal. I am so excited to find out the gender of our little bean though, so I can really begin bonding with him or her even more. I am looking forward to searching for a name, picking out stuff for the baby's room, buying a coming home outfit and all the other fun stuff involvced with actually being pregnant besides the morning sickness and weight gain! Most importantly I will not have to fumble around what to call our baby, or feel quilty for say he or she when the baby could be the opposite gender. If you want to get your votes in do it now if you haven't all ready. I know that most of the immediate family is hoping for a boy, and all of our friends our hoping for a girl, but honestly Wes and I just want our baby to be healthy and happy. I know that we will love the baby no matter what and that everyone else will do the same.

We got a carseat!

Today I went to visit my friend Savanah from church. We had a great time just talking and getting to know each other better. Needless to say Savanah knows how to find a deal on things here around the island! I feel was so blessed because she happened to have a car seat that she had picked up from a garage sale for $12.00! At first I didn't know about it, but Savanah has done her research (especially after having three kids!) and asked all the correct questions! The car seat was only used for a short time because it was a replacement for the one the couple had after they had been in an accident. So not only is this car seat accident free, it is good until 2014, it is from a smoke free pet free home, but it is the EXACT pattern that I was looking at ordering! I am so excited! Now I would like to find the stroller to match so I will have to look around on line. And since Savanah knows where are the good sites are on island to go garage saling we have decided to make a day of it one weekend when we are both free! Most likely after July 31st when I know the gender of our bean.

I feel HUGE!!!

So today I just feel HUGE! There is no other way to describe it. Not that it is a bad thing, I mean for God's sake I am pregnant, but I mean huge! I am sure that yesterday it didn't help that the public health lady made me really mad when she told me I had gained to much weight! According to the doctor's scale I am up this week, and how it happened so fast I don't know. But the scale at public health put me even heavier than the doctors. Then she was kind enough to show me this little chart that says I should have only gained 5 pounds by now! Are you kidding me? I am almost 18 weeks pregnant! That is half way there! So we discussed nutrition and what I eat and afterwards I asked her what i should change to help watch my weight. Needless to say she couldn't come up with anything since 90% of what I eat is healthy! So sorry that I don't fit onto your really messed up scale!
So I am up (according to the doctor's scale) about 11 lbs (and that is fully dressed and after lunch), but I don't think that is entirely unreasonable for being about half way through this pregnancy. I will say that I have no idea how I gained 5 lbs since last Thursday, if this is truly the case, it isn't like I get to sit around all day eating Bon bons. However, I do feel huge and like my stomach has moved even further out. I guess that time will tell if it is here to stay or if I am just really bloated this week! Either way I have resolved to be alright with it and just ignore the public health lady. My doctors don't act concerned, so why should I?

17 weeks down...23 weeks to go!

How far along? 17 glorious weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: I am up 6 pounds from my original, weight give or take the day
Maternity clothes? yes, much more comfortable expecially now that my belly is finally making an appearance~ name another time in life when you wish for that! lol
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: About the same. Last Monday was horrible and I was up since 1 am, but every other night I have slept really well this week. Odd.
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat again for sure, and feeling the beginning of movements.
Movement: Not a ton. I think this baby likes to sleep like daddy! However, I am pretty sure I got kicked a couple of times after rolling over in the middle of the night!
Food cravings: Ok so this last week over the fourth I had carvings for Guacamole, Shrimp Cocktail and Salt and Vinegar Pringles! Needless to say I indulged in all of them. :)
Gender: We find out in 3 weeks! But I still have no idea! Can not wait.
Labor Signs: Thank goodness no.
Belly Button in or out? Still in :)
What I miss: Besides other things I have mentioned...I miss Not gagging on my food! Totally new development this week and hoping it goes away soon!
What I am looking forward to: Feeling this baby move more!
Weekly Wisdom: Be forcefull with the doctors and make sure they answer all of your questions before you get shown out of the office!
Milestones: Hearing the baby's heartbeat again (155bpm) and knowing that everything is going to be fine with this baby!

16 weeks...

How far along? 16 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: the same as before
Maternity clothes? bottoms with normal and some maternity tops
Stretch marks? No. Thank goodness! lol
Sleep: I never realized how little sleep you get before the baby comes! I sleep good until about 2am and then I toss and turn, but that is just part of being this bean's mom I guess!
Best moment this week: I have made it 7 days without getting sick! I have also had more energy and have been able to cook and clean my house with no problems!
Movement: Not yet :( not distinctive ones anyways! Little pinches here and there, but waiting for the real kicking to begin!
Food cravings: Most things are looking good and tasting good! finally. If I had to say I have a craving it would honestly be for salads. However, half the time my stomach is in knots after I eat them, so I don't eat them as often as I would like to!
Gender: I finally had a dream about this baby's gender! I dreamt the doctor was doing an u/s and she pointed out the fact that we were having a baby girl! We could see her beautiful features and everything including a head full of black hair! Not that the dream means much, but it was fun to think about.
Labor Signs: Thank goodness no.
Belly Button in or out? Still in :)
What I miss: Let's see...life is honestly coming back around...so about the only thing I really miss is being able to stay asleep all night. Sleeping on my 'left' side leaves a kink in my neck most days but i am getting used to it.
What I am looking forward to: Feeling this baby move!
Weekly Wisdom: Have faith that everything is going to be OK with the baby. Once the morning sickness wears off, but you can not feel the baby move your mind starts to wonder. Just remember to have faith in God that all is well.
Milestones: Not having all day sickness and feeling halfway normal!
